In five to six weeks, a new football net will be coming!
Our principal Mr D says, “that the new football net will be very practical as it will stop balls from going on the roof and teachers will not have to retrieve them”.
Footballs can be very expensive and about 10 go up every week, maybe more! All the kids are excited about the new footy net. We all think that it will make a big improvement to the school!

In Art this term we are doing Pop Art. If you are wondering what pop art is, it is a word on a piece of paper and it sort of looks like it pops out of the page, like in a cartoon,
POP, POOF, BANG, ZAP, WHOOSH, POW, BONG, KA-POW, SNAP, CRACK, SIZZLE, BAM
It is fun and you learn things that you don’t usually learn like shading and creative bubble writing.
We aren’t quite finished yet but we are still having fun and increasing our creativity in this subject! This would be awesome to try at home!!! J

Staff V Students Netball Match Report
ON FRIDAY 23 MAY WAS A NETBALL GAME RED TEAM VS. BLUE TEAM. AT FIRST, RED WAS JUST TEACHERS AND BLUE WAS STUDENTS BUT THE TEACHERS WERE WINNING AND THE GAME WAS UNBALANCED. AT QUARTER TIME THEY MADE IT BALANCED AND THE SCORE BY THEN WAS 7 TO 3. BUT BY HALF TIME IT CHANGED FROM 13 TO 9. RED TEAM GOT THE MOST FOULS BECAUSE THEY HAD THE MOST TEACHERS WHO WERE MUCH BIGGER AND MORE PUSHY. ONE OF THE PLAYERS DAVID EVANS SAID, “IT WAS HARD BECAUSE TEACHERS WERE VERY TALL AND THEY KEPT GETTING THE REBOUNDS. I WAS GOAL KEEPER AND AT 3 QUARTER TIME I WAS GOAL DEFENDER. IT WAS VERY CHALLENGING BUT FUN.”
IN THE END RED TEAM WON. THE SCORE WAS 28 TO 15 AND THEY ALL SHOOK HANDS AND SAID ‘GOOD GAME’ TO ALL.

In Media Moguls we have been learning how to take nice photos and we have been taught how to edit photos correctly and how to take and make them into a story for our assessment.
We had to plan out all of our pictures that we wanted to take photos of. We have a variety of photos that we had taken and created them into a story. When we started this project we learnt how to make videos of ourselves and how to get music in them.
We also learnt how to get photos that we can put up on the Internet and what we can’t put up there because the photographer doesn’t want it up on social media sites. We have had from the start of Term 2 to complete them and have been going for 4 weeks. We have been doing green screen stuff and have been taught how to put backgrounds in our videos. Then we had to make small speeches to go with them.
We have also been trying different websites to use to edit our photos, but some online photo editors didn’t work. We have been practising speaking to the camera.

In the Adventure Time club everyone is friendly and it’s good to come and make friends and gain confidence. We also play games, watch episodes of Adventure Time and also make things to do with Adventure Time like your own song or music.
So please come down and join our socialising club. We promise you will have a really great time and make lots of friends with socialising. If you have any suggestions down below such as what we should do for the club, it would be really be great. Thank you sincerely.

It will it be at the S.L.C. Room 5 at lunch times every second Wednesday starting later this year.
What our club stands for:
This term, the students in the ‘Media Moguls’ elective unit have been learning about photography. The students have created a project that makes ordinary elements of everyday life look extraordinary! Here are just a few examples…
Our Academic Captains, Tamsyn and Scott, got together last Friday in the 30 minutes before assembly, and interviewed some of our grade six students about their experiences at the Lightning Premierships Carnival. This is the result.
Has your school competed in a day of sporting games against other schools?
Meet our ICT captains, Lilly and Oliver, and make sure you visit the SLC Puzzler blog for some mind boggling challenges!
